Call for Scholars: Encyclopaedia Africana

9 July 2018

The EAP (ENCYCLOPAEDIA AFRICANA PROJECT) Secretariat in partnership with CIDO - African Union Commission are in the process of constituting a new EAP Scientific Committee for the next volume of the ENCYCLOPAEDIA AFRICANA.

They are seeking academics, researchers or historians with an internationally recognized track record in African history or African studies to constitute the Scientific Committee.

The candidates should be African scholars located in Africa. A few African diaspora scholars will be considered as long as they have the right profile.

About the Encyclopaedia Africana Project

The legacy of the Encyclopaedia Africana Project dates back to 1960, in Ghana, West Africa, when W.E.B. Du Bois witnessed the inauguration of the independent Republic. At that time, First President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, asked Dr. Du Bois if he would plan an Encyclopaedia Africana.  Dr. Du Bois consented to do this and to consult others.
